trip to watsons with mom

so ever since i got my fraxel treatment done 3 weeks  ago, i was off make up and still am actually but when i passed by watsons (a local drugstore) with my mom i couldn't help myself but buy some stuff i found useful.
my mom is staying with us for a while and when she found my make up stash she got so excited about everything in it!lol this is a 60 year old woman we're talking about. we have been apart for almost 10 years ever since i went to college here in the Philippines and they (my parents) stayed in Dubai (where i was born&raised). i would only visit them in summer or winter breaks since i was studying and those were just short visits 2-3 weeks max. earlier this year they both retired and came back to Philippines, which brings me now to my blog.
so 10 years later this is when we get to bond, mother&daughter. i know there are a lot of things we missed out on, lots of experiences we didn't get to do together but i'm sure we'll have enough time to catch up. the past may be gone but there is still a future.
my mom particularly liked one make up item of mine, this is the L'Oreal minerals loose powder. she found it to be so light on her skin compared to cosmetic compact powders and she said that it was wearable everyday (which she eventually did). we have different skin types she has sensitive skin and i have oily skin. so we went over to watsons and looked for a minerals loose powder that was not as expensive as my L'Oreal one cause she said she would't spend php.900+ on a small powder that she would use everyday. we came across this booth which sells all mineral make up it was names bt minerals. all the cosmetics were really nice and cheap. the sales lady offered a mineral powder similar to what we were looking for, it also came with a concealer on the top cover so that i found was way useful than my L'Oreal.

it's really nice and compact so it's pretty easy to travel with. it's also light weight on the face nothing matte and heavy about it. i'd say this was a bargain.

next i saw this Revlon lip gloss/stain and fell in-love with it cause it's kinda matte, thick and looks not so glossy. i don't like lip glosses cause it pretty much forms a white film when it's on the lips for long plus i don't like the sticky feeling of gloss.
super love the shade "fire", the one on the left is mac Russian red.
the gloss is promising i just hope it is also long lasting. i love that it is a full size long gloss so the're a lot of product. this would be my first ever lip stain/gloss thing, i don't know what it's called lol

then we came across the booth of elf and found something interesting! a brow shaper! i mean a brow guide?! never saw anything like it.

it's super cheap and it comes with 4 different eye brow shapes so you can just put a brow design over your brows and shape them according to the brow kit.
so of-course with the brow kit should come some brow tools right?! we had to buy a brow powder so we went over to the booth of in2it and got one. it's super nice and it comes in 3 shades in one container.

i think after getting the eyebrow stuff mom was already satisfied.
i wanted to buy her some make up brushes too but i only use real techniques and they're not available in shops here so i order them online. we just settled for make up brushes from marinaud in watsons which doesn't look bad actually, for daily use they'll do just fine.

another fashion21 lippie

today i bought this lipstick from the mall. once again it's a local drugstore item "watsons" from the cosmetic brand fashion21 and it's from their red romance line. i got the shade in miss valentine and i'm super loving it! it's a tone darker than the one i previously got but still i like it a lot. i didn't expect the texture of their lippies to be good since they're just cheap ones, but now i know the quality and i can say they're worth the price.  it was again only 155 pesos!

compared to hot diva (left), miss valentine (right) is a whole lot darker and less blue.
both shades are at the bottom of the lipstick.
swatches. i just love how these colors are similar but different in a way. i hope i made sense haha
as for how the texture is when applied, i feel they're just the same both are kinda not so matte it's more of a mix semi matte and moisture. you feel it soft and somewhat wet. so you don't really need to top it off with a gloss it's alright on it's own. like i said before i'm not much of a fan when it comes to moisture lipsticks but this ones are nice for everyday use. i usually go for mac matte lippies cause they have all the right colors.
i also came across this new make up brand called BYS philippines, i'm so excited to do reviews on their lipsticks and mascara's! i will try and but a whole bunch of them by next week. another brand that looks very promising! :)

accidental mall stop over

Today i found myself strolling at the mall again only because i wanted to ask the building beside SM if they have any hiring at the call centers but the position i was inquiring about was not yet open so i ended up looking around at the mall. and yes my "looking around" made me buy some stuff hehe compulsive me strikes again.
i bough these two items from the department store; a sheer top from maldita and a fashion21 lipstick (both local brands). i really liked the top because it was polka dots prints and sheer and to top it off it was on sale! now who can resist that, right?! i was lucky it was the only one left so it was so meant to be. i did try on two items only because i found the other top weird cause it had a slit on the arms and i wanted to see how it would look when worn.
this top was only php.499 it's sheer material as you can tell and button down. i super loved it.

this other top was sheer and button down too. i just found the print and design too mature for me. this was a small but it looked really loose. i have no idea what the arm slit was for but it was fun playing around with haha maybe someone who had bigger arms would've looked better with the slit? the ribbon was cute too instead of buttons.
i did buy the first top which was also the last piece so i just had to buy it. there's no way i'm leaving that behind on a sale price.
the fabric of both i really liked cause it was sheer but thick at the same time so i know it wont run or get damaged easily. i do have a few cheap sheer tops from divisoria but they get damaged easily cause the material/fabric isn't that thick or well made. so this maldita top will be one of my favorites.

oh yeah and my phone is wearing a pink iPhone skin with glitters. a lot of people are asking where i got it well it was just customized by a shop (any cellphone accessories shop) who sells iPhone skins they just peel it and stick it on the phone. doesn't damage it even after removing.

my next purchase was a lipstick from fashion21. a fuchsia one actually and it reminded me of mac show orchid which i truly love! it's a cheaper version i believe. no girl can resist em lipsticks!
it's a full size too and just php.155. such a bargain for an every day lippie!

the swatch on my hand i left on for about more than 4 hours to test if it would stay on. it's already almost 8pm and i did the swatch at around 3pm right after i got home. it got wet cause i did the laundry and gave my dogs a bath. it did stay on pretty well although it did also get lighter but it was still very much seen. so yes i believe it is very pigmented.
this fashion21 brand looks promising! it's also my first lipstick from the brand so fingers crossed i wont get chapped lips. it does come out as a bit glossy, i like matte lippies better .the sales lady did say it was semi matte and moisture so i hope it's all good in the long run.
so far so good ill be getting another local drugstore brand that's also below php.500 just to compare which one is more worthy of a cheap but good lipstick. I've never really owned cheap ones and i'm beginning to think i should consider them.

so there you have it my day at the mall once again! not so productive career wise. well accidental mall visit is more like it lol

mini haul

Today i found a sale at watsons in sm cubao, manila. so i couldn't help myself and got some lip liners and one eyeliner from nichido (a local drugstore make up brand here in the Philippines). actually i was looking for lippies that were more on the plum shade but didn't find any. the lip liners were fairly cheap just 100 pesos and the eyeliner i got was a minerals one so it was 130+ pesos but it's still cheap they are all full size. that's not bad i just need them for a base to make my lipstick last longer.

I also got myself the new schwarzkopf shampoo and conditioners the extra care hair repair bottle. they were both for 50+ pesos i just wanted to try the small ones cause i usually get dandruff when i use other brands so i will test and see if this is a good brand for my hair before i buy the big size. i like their packaging cause it's black. the smell also is nice it smells like saloon shampoo. what got my attention is the keratin ingredient i need that cause i have colored hair so it's damaged even if it doesn't show.

I tried this product just after i got home. it made my hair really soft and it smells great!
